Andreas Canyon - Short and sweet, nice and shady under the big Washingtonia Filifera Palms.
Tahquitz Canyon - A nice 2 mile loop trail you could bring your Granny on - and yet magnificent. Waterfall, rocks, flowers, sky.

FOOD
DHS has several Mexican Dining Places to enjoy.
One of our fav’s is:
Delicias Mexican Cuisine - Atmosphere, unique dishes and great mezcal margaritas.
Palm Springs
Craving a pastrami sammy, but haven’t eaten meat in years? Check out the Pastrami Mami sandwich at CTK! Plus so many more vegan tasty treats. We like to stop for a bite upon arriving at PSP since there is a location right near the airport. You can order from UberEats to deliver to SWS after a day poolside, post massage!
HIGH DEZ- MORONGO VALLEY + JOSHUA TREE
HIKES
Morongo Preserve - FREE and Easy, great for a short drop-by walk. It’s where the birds and other critters hang in the winter. On the East side of Hwy 62 on the drive to Joshua Tree. Sunrise to Sunset. We suggest you leave a donation in the box.
Joshua Tree National Park - Pass Is Good For 10 Days.
Yes, It’s really that great, and worth it to make the jaunt. Drive through on a stormy day - Magnifico! If it’s hot in the Low Dez it will be 15 degrees cooler in Joshua Tree. Sooo many great walks and hikes. Travel with a good soundtrack for the drive, and anything else that gets you Happy On.
Hidden Valley - A dreamy perfect JT hike. Two Miles through rock and open valley. We saw some bighorn sheep galloping by once, pure magic.
Boy Scout Trail - High Ho, High Ho, it’s across the open desert we go! Then prepare For a nice long uphill walk through a dry stream bed, big rocks, flora and fauna and incredible views.
CULTURE
Integratron - The Fusion of Art, Science, and Magic. This historical structure designed and constructed in the 1950s by George Van Tassel, an aeronautical engineer and ufologist, who claimed it was built following instructions he received from extraterrestrials.
FOOD
La Copine - Make a reservation and plan to go early in the day (they close at 3pm). Absolutely extra tasty in an unlikely location (we can relate, and like that combo). Follow it with a hike in the Pioneertown Preserve. Yes, another great hike, if you read this far.
The Dez - Great sandwiches, snacks and of course they carry Guayaki Yerba Mate. An essential for a warm summer hike that turns out to be longer than you thought!
